Name: Sequoia Sempervirens
Source/Origin: A slow-growing softwood, one of the largest trees in the world. Native to the damper regions of the Californian Coast. Small amount planted in New Zealand.
Appearance: Heartwood is red-brown with an attractive grain. Sapwood narrow and creamy.
Common uses: Flooring, Cladding, External Joinery, Outdoor Furniture, Plywood, Pattern-Making, Windows.
