Red Mahogany

Other common names: Red Stringybark, Red Messmate (E.resinifera); Daintree Stringybark, Large-fruited Red Mahogany (E. pellita)

Name: Eucalyptus Resinifera.

Source/Origin: A large hardwood of the East Coast from Sydney to Atherton in North Queensland.

Appearance: The heartwood ranges from red to dark red. Sapwood is distinctively paler.

Common uses: Flooring, Cladding.

Durability: Above Ground Class 1.

Availability: Fairly Common.
