Name: Callitris Endlicheri, Callitris Glauca
Source/Origin: A small to medium softwood that grows in the hilly country of inland NSW and QLD.
Appearance: The heartwood has a lot of colour variation from pale yellow browns through to dark brown, almost black. Cypress is very knotty and prone to splitting as it dries.
Common uses: Excellent for house frames in termite areas. Also other structural applications such as decking and pergolas. Makes an excellent floor or deck and is also very good for weatherboards.
Janka Hardness: 6.5-6.6
Durability: Extremely durable and white ant resistant.
Availability: Readily available.
